Grandma Fran

Grandma Fran...I don't even have words for her! She is our adopted Columbus, GA Grandma...
Kara (and I for that matter) are so lucky to have her in our lives and we are so thankful for the leap of faith that brought her into our little world way before Kara was even born. Fran - thank you for everything!!! Whenever the Army moves us I will pack you up and take you with us!!!!

Taking a nap...the child doesnt even sleep on me like that...

If Fran is our adopted grandmom then Chris must be the adopted uncle... :-) whatever it is...Kara is just as much in love with him as she is with her...these were taking before his Senior Prom!

Kara and the BEACH Part 2

Here is the rest of the "vacation" pictures:

Asleep on the little boat that took us to "Shell Island"!
Posing for mama! I just wish she would've looked at the camera once...
Still WAY more interested in all the "stuff" thats going on around her...heck who wants to look at mama when there is sand, ocean and birds all around...
All giggles...look close she really is giggling behind all my hair...
I call this one "baby feet in the sand"...
Happy little camper...
Screaming in delight...
Ok...so I thought let her touch the sand...didnt think of her constant wet slobber hands and that sand does actually stick to it...it was so hard to get off...yet she is unphased and still playing with the sand in her left hand...
awwwwww...if I may say so...
More giggles...
Looking but of course NOT smiling...I guess I just cant have it all...
We got to shake Dolphin hands...Kara was rather fascinated...
And here the highlight of the trip...at least in Kara's eyes...the oh so soft and fluffy bed! She was mushing her face all in it as soon as I put her on the bed she crawled to the pillows and had a good ole time...oh how she loves the simple things...
ATTACK!!!!SMUSH!!!!!!!
Right before full on body smush into the pillow! I could've watched her on this bed for hours...

Kara and the BEACH Part 1

For the sake of getting this done sooner I decided to split these up in several posts!

The Pier at the Hotel with the Bay behind us.

Excuse that HAIR! Wow sea air is not my friend ;-)

Kara got to dip her feed in the cold ocean...I admit..mainly for the sake of the picture...
Yeah...getting all 3 to look is like trying to fit Easter and Christmas in one day...
She just kept starring at the ocean :-)

swing...

I knew I had a little daredevil child...the higher she is thrown, the faster she is moved around, the crazier the better... Anything that makes mom's heart stop for a second she is finding utterly amusing! So when I took her to the playground to try out the swing for the first time I had a feeling she would like it...

and in her true self...she giggled louder and more the higher and faster it went...she does NOT have that from me *lol*

oh the mess...

...so I gave in...I allowed her to get her hands in the food...it had to happen sooner or later, right?
I did discover that the highchair actually does clean up quiet nicely and that Kara does as well...even with prunes and pears in nose, ears and hair! But, but, but *yuck* I carried her to the bathtub like she had some infectious disease *lol*... I do want to keep her in a bubble...like the huggies wipes commercial mom... no dirty baby!!!!

And since I am a good mom who wants only the best for her child and her development I let her do it again with cut up bananas the next day (admittedly...that was an even bigger mess *roll eyes*)

say WHAT???? weirdest weekend...

I still cant quiet understand all that went on this weekend...I was on my way to see a friend on Fort Benning Saturday morning...it had been poring and there had been a tornado watch (if you live here it *almost* becomes not that big of a deal). As I approached the base the radio shut down for the warning and to top that the guard at the base entrance warned me to better get inside quick as a tornado was sighted and supposedly was heading our way. Interestingly enough we actually ended up in a closet for a few minutes as it just got a little loud for comfort but all in all nothing really happened where we were at...here is a picture of the flooded intersection. Mind you not, about 3 hours later it was SUNNY and about 70 degrees (now keep this in mind as it will play a vital part in this post and why this was the weirdest weekend!)

As eventful as that had been you can imagine my surprise as I woke up on Sunday morning to yet another weird weather situation...something you don't quiet expect when you live in GA/AL!

Of course we had to taste it (look close you see her *eating* the snow with her tongue):
I was confused as can be (hence the horrible pictures...I couldn't even operate my camera right) but Kara had a blast:
Flying Snow Angel:
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....THAT'S where all the *stuff* is coming from...from up there!!!!

I know she wasn't appropriately dressed but we stayed outside a mere 2 minutes to take these pictures and I am sure she was fine...snow in GA/AL doesn't happen so I had to get these pictures!
Surprisingly enough it was not 95 degrees today (which really wouldn't have surprised me all that much considering whats been going on the past few days)!
